隨著電腦與網路的快速發展，網路在教學上的應用逐漸改變了傳統的教與學的型態，資訊融入各科教學、非同步遠距教學等新的教學理念都是透過網路來達成，主要原因就是網路可以突破以往教與學型態中時間與空間的限制。
無線網路的興起是近年來在商業及網路服務極受重視的一項新技術，無線網路根據架構及運作方式的不同可以無線通訊網路以及無線區域網路，透過無線網路可以彌補有線網路的限制，提供更完善的網路連線服務，因此逐漸許多公共場所、學校、工廠都以無線網路來輔助有線網路的不足。
情境學習著重於學習者能夠主動而實際參與，配合教學者的引導，由觀察、模仿以及經驗中建構知識。本研究「無線網路在情境學習活動的應用─以認識校園植物為例」，依據無線區域網路IEEE802.11b的標準實驗規劃校園無線網路，並探討無線區域網路在教學上的應用。
根據研究步驟、問卷結果、訪談記錄的探討，本研究之情境學習活動對學習者的學習具有正向的幫助，同時，參與研究的學習者也肯定無線網路所具備的優點。而本研究採用的輔助研究設備，情境即時捕捉的設備，學習者認為有助於實際觀察與紀錄，並可作為日後回憶、深入學習的輔助。

As the computer and the Internet make amazing progress, the Internet applied for teaching has changed the conventional type of teaching and learning. Information integrated into curriculum and distance learning in different paces are achieved by the Internet. The most important reason is that the Internet can break the limit on time and space of traditional teaching and learning.
Wireless network merges as a result of a new technology viewed significantly in business and Internet service these years. More and more public places, schools and factories equip their wired network with wireless network.
Situated learning focuses on the learners'' activeness and personal participation. With teachers'' instruction, students can build up their own knowledge through observance and imitation. This research " wireless Internet apply for situated learning activity--take recognizing plants on the campus for instance" is aimed to arrange wireless Internet on the campus according to wireless network with the protocol IEEE802.11b and to discuss the application of wireless network in teaching.
According to the steps of the research, survey and the record of interview, this research is opposite to the learners'' learning and those learners in this project also agree to the advantages of wireless Internet at the same time. And they also consider that the equipments used in this research project are helpful for the advanced study.
