本研究目的旨在探討白血病患者之希望、憂鬱及生活品質之相關性。以描述性、相關設計研究法，採方便取樣，研究對象為經血液腫瘤專科醫師診斷為白血病之患者；至少經歷一次化學治療。於台北市兩大醫學中心血液腫瘤科病房進行研究，選取合乎選案條件之個案100位。本研究所使用的工具為諾氏希望量表（Nowotny Hope Scale）、貝氏憂鬱量表（Beck Depression Inventory）、生活品質量表SF-36（Medical Outcome Survey Short-Form 36），問卷皆有良好的信效度。本研究之資料分析以SPSS 10.0 Window版本建立資料檔案與分析。統計分析方法包括：百分比、頻率、平均值、標準差、ANOVA、Pearson’s Correlation及Hierarchical Regression。
研究結果顯示住院中白血病患者之希望狀態在中等以上，憂鬱程度中等度，有93％的患者有輕度至重度的憂鬱情緒，生活品質低於一般人的平均值。住院中白血病患者之希望狀態與憂鬱程度呈負相關（r=-.628, p<.001），希望狀態與生活品質生理功能為正相關（r=.422, p<.001）；與心理功能亦為正相關（r=.543, p<.001）。控制住院中白血病患者人口學變項與疾病特質後，憂鬱狀態與希望程度共可解釋生活品質生理功能變異量的12.1%；可解釋生活品質心理功能變異量的15.7%。研究結果提供臨床護理人員照顧白血病患者之重要參考。

ABSTRACT
The purpose of the study was to explore the relationships among hope, depression and quality of life in patients with leukemia. The study was a descriptive, correlational design. A convenience sample was used. One hundred qualified patients were recruited from two medical centers of major hospitals in northern Taiwan. The questionnaires included the Nowotny Hope Scale, the Beck Depression Inventory, and the Medical Outcome Survey Short-Form 36. The validity and reliability of questionnaires were satisfactory. Data were analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s product moment correlation and Hierarchical regression by using SPSS 10.0 software. Results indicated that patients with leukemia had a moderate level of hope, a medium level of depression, and poor quality of life than general population. Ninety-three percents of subjects had a depressed mood. Findings were also demonstrated significant relationships between hope and variables of depression (r=-.628, p<.001), physical component scores (r=.422, p<.001) and mental component score( r=.543, p<.001) of quality of life. Controlling for demographic and disease-related variables, hope and depression explained 12.1% of variance in physical component scores of quality of life. Whereas, hope and depression explained 15.7% of variance in mental component scores of quality of life.
The study findings provided vital information for nurses who are taking care patients with leukemia.
