在有計劃疏浚河川及增加公共造產的前題下，本研究旨在對宜蘭縣南澳溪(包括南澳南溪與南澳北溪)之砂石工程特性進行各項試驗，其中包括物性試驗、化性試驗、力學性質試驗及岩性分析等，以瞭解該流域之砂石是否可以滿足營建工程用骨材之需求，同時並比較南澳南溪與南澳北溪砂石之工程性質差異。
本研究分別於南澳南溪採取四處樣品及南澳北溪採取兩處樣品，然後依照中國國家標準規範(CNS)及美國材料試驗學會規範(ASTM)中所述之方法進行各項不同之試驗，並參酌中國國家標準『混凝土粒料』(CNS 1240)與『混凝土用碎石』(CNS 6299)作為評估砂石品質優劣之參考依據，同時輔以工程實務經驗綜合判斷。試驗結果顯示南澳溪之砂石應可利用於營建工程之混凝土拌合上或港灣工程中之拋石材料使用，唯南澳溪之砂在級配上可能會有跳級配現象，南澳溪砂石的其它性質皆可以滿足規範或工程經驗上之需求。此外，南溪之砂其吸水率與含泥量均比北溪低，在混凝土拌合使用應有較好的表現；南溪之石的工程性質中，由試驗結果顯示，其磨損率與健性均優於北溪，唯抗壓強度與彈性模數低於北溪。

In this thesis, a study on the characteristics of river sands from Nan-Au River in Ill-Nan County is proposed based on scheduled river dredging and increasing the public estate, and several tests including physical tests, chemical test, mechanical property test and petrologic characteristics analysis are conducted to determine the requirements of aggregates form the sands in these river areas for building engineering. Besides, a comparison on these characteristics of the river sands between the southern part and northern part of Nan-Au River is also made to determine their differences.
Four sets of data from southern part and two from northern part are sampled to conduct various tests according to the CNS and ASTM codes. In addition, a code, “fined-aggregates for reinforced concrete”, in CNS 1240 and another one, “crashed stones for reinforced concrete”, in CNS 6299 are both adopted to evaluate the qualities of these river sands in conjunction with the practical experiences. The results show that the river sands from Nan-Au River can be qualified for mixing of reinforced concretes in building engineering or for the use of filling materials in the harbor engineering. Although the grading of these river sands for common usage is not regular, the other characteristics of them can satisfy the requirements of the codes and engineering practices. Besides, the sopping rate and sandiness for southern part are both better than those for northern one and thus it will show superior performance in the mixing of reinforced concretes. Further, the weight loss due to wearing and soundness indicate that corresponding properties from southern part are superior to those from northern part and, in contrast, for the compressive strength and elastic modulus, those from northern part are better than those from southern part.
