論文名稱:台東縣蘭嶼島上綠蠵龜不同的產卵棲地間與產卵行為之比較

台東縣蘭嶼島是台灣僅存的兩個綠蠵龜產卵地之一。島上原本有六個沙灘,但由於沙灘環境的破壞與當地居民的干擾,現在只剩下東清灣及小八代灣尚有一定數量的母龜會上岸產卵,因此,本研究的目的,是針對影響母龜對於產卵沙灘選擇性之自然與非自然因素等,來比較東清灣與小八代灣兩個沙灘之產卵環境上的差異,並探討蘭嶼島上之綠蠵龜對產卵棲地的選擇因子,以瞭解沙灘環境與產卵母龜間的關係。
調查結果顯示,在2000年共有5頭海龜上岸產卵,分別為小八代灣3頭,共產下12窩卵,東清灣2頭,共產下9窩卵,卵窩皆分佈植被區域。小八代灣的卵窩平均孵化率為86%,比東清灣的孵化率48%高,主要原因可能與沙灘的地形與人為的破壞有關。
在兩沙灘間的差異性上,小八代灣在各區間的沙灘溫度與沙灘含水量皆比東清灣高,沙灘顆粒則是以小八代灣較粗,但沙灘的顆粒特性對母龜選擇產卵地的影響並不大,兩沙灘間之日照強度沒有顯著的差異性存在,植被分布之比例則以東清灣的變化較大。
在人為干擾方面,光照與遊客人數雖然對於母龜的產卵雖沒有影響,但卻增加了母龜在選擇卵窩時的爬行距離,並提高母龜在沙灘上停留的時間。
根據本研究的結果,使我們對於蘭嶼島綠蠵龜選擇產卵地之自然因子有了初步的了解,研究顯示母龜喜歡選擇沙灘溫度偏低、含水量高以及有植被的區域產卵。但對於非自然因素如:燈光的控制以及遊客的觀賞方式,可能還需更深入的研究與探討,才能以確保人為的干擾不會影響到蘭嶼島上綠蠵龜的生殖生態行為。
