存貨管理的目標是決定各項存貨適當的存貨水準，實務上，在存貨項目眾多的情形下，不可能對所有項目，付予相同時間管理，而必須採取重點管理，ABC分析法是最為廣泛應用之方法，然而其缺點是無法處理非名目屬性。
本研究結合模糊分類法與ABC分析法提出一新的存貨分類法。研究流程如下，首先，針對模糊分類法的文獻加以探討。接著，結合模糊分類法與ABC分析法提出一新的存貨分類法稱為ABC-FC分析法，該法能夠同時處理名目屬性與非名目屬性並依據存貨項目之重要性分成很重要、普通與不重要三群。
再者，以基隆港倉儲材料的實際資料做驗證，將ABC-FC分析法應用於存貨項目分類，結果有59項被分類為重要群，69項被分類為普通群、64項被分類為不重群。最後，針對研究結果提出結論與建議。

The objective of inventory management is to make decisions regarding the appropriate level of inventory. In practice, all inventories cannot be controlled with equal attention. The most widespread use inventory control system is the ABC classification system. The limitation of the ABC control system is that non-cost attributes cannot be considered.
In this research, we combine the fuzzy classification with the ABC classification system to develop a new approach, which can handle both nominal and non-nominal attributes. It provides a powerful tool for inventory control and classification problem.
First, we review the literature related to the fuzzy classification. Second, by combining the fuzzy classification with the ABC classification system, we develop a new approach for classifying inventory, which is called an ABC-FC analysis. The ABC-FC analysis divide inventory items into three groups--important, ordinary, and unimportant groups.
Third, our ABC-FC approach is implemented based on the data of the Keelung Port. The results of our study show that the identification of 59 items as important group, 69 items as ordinary group, and the remaining 64 items as unimportant group. Last, some concluding remarks and suggestions are provided.
