本研究以台灣東北部海域所漁獲之平滑白眼鮫(Carcharhinus falciformis)為對象,主要在進行其年齡與成長的探討,同時亦對其生殖與食性做初步的研究。所使用標本係2000年8月至2002年1月間,於南方澳漁市場採得,所得樣本雌、雄資料分別為213尾和256尾,總計469尾。
性成熟體長經推估得雌魚為201∼220cm TL,雄魚則為208cm TL。胎仔產出體長大致介於63∼75cm TL之間,每胎產仔8∼10尾,胎仔性比為1:1。
年齡查定以尾柄部位的脊椎骨為形質,雌魚與雄魚的輪紋最多分別可判讀至11輪及14輪。從邊緣成長率的月別變化得知,平滑白眼鮫不論雌雄,其暗帶輪紋皆在11月∼1月間形成,一年形成一輪。以非線性迴歸推估von Bertalanffy 成長方程式之各項參數,得雌魚為L∞=358cm TL、K=0.072、t0=-3.051,雄魚則為L∞=326cm TL、K=0.091、t0=-2.476。本種性成熟年齡雌魚為8.2∼10.2歲,雄魚為8.7歲。
由42尾樣本的胃內容物進行分析,結果顯示,平滑白眼鮫不論雌、雄均以硬骨魚類的鯖魚和頭足類為主要餌料生物。
The reproduction, age and growth, and feeding biology of the silky shark, Carcharhinus falciformis,occurred in the northeastern waters off Taiwan were examined in this study. A total of 469(213 females and 256 males)specimens was collected from August 2000 to January 2002 at Nan Fan Ao fish market. The length at birth was estimated to be 63∼75cm TL. Sex ratio of embryos was estimated to be 1:1. Males mature at about 208cm TL while females are 201∼220cm TL. The age and growth was estimated using annulus counts of caudal vertebra. The annuli were counted up to 11 and 14 for female and male, respectively. The monthly changes of the marginal increment indicated that translucent and opaque zones on vertebral centra were formed one time per year during November and January. The parameters of VBGE obtained from nonlinear regressions based on age and total length were as follows: female :L∞=358cm TL、K=0.072、t0=-3.051,male L∞=326cm TL、K=0.091、t0=-2.476. The age at sexual maturity are 8.2∼10.2 yrs and 8.7 yrs for female and male, respectively. Stomach content is comparatively low and scombers and cephalopods were the dominant food items for this species.
