本研究針對台灣東北部海域分佈之廣東鰩(Raja kwangtungensis)進行漁業生物學研究。所採用標本係2000年10月至2001年11月間,按月自宜蘭大溪魚市場採得,其中雌魚247尾、雄魚262尾,總計509尾。經解剖觀察得知本種為卵生種類之一,沒有固定的生殖季節,終年皆可產卵。雌、雄50%性成熟體盤寬分別為44.4公分(4.9歲)及38.6公分(4.1歲)。
年齡成長研究以脊椎骨為形質,經邊緣成長率月別變化分析,得知半透明帶在每年的1-3月形成,且一年形成一輪。von Bertalanffy成長方程式的各項參數,雌魚:L∞= 57.2cm (DW)、k = 0.288 yr -1、t 0 = -0.28 yr;雄魚:L∞= 51.0cm、k = 0.300 yr -1、 t 0 = -0.62 yr。最大觀測年齡雌雄分別為9.8歲、8.1歲。
本種以甲殼類、魚類與頭足類為主食,隨體型增大胃內容物中硬骨魚比例有逐漸增加的趨勢。
The reproduction, age and growth, and feeding biology of the cantonese skate, Raja kwangtungensis, in the northeastern waters off Taiwan were studied. A total of 509 (247 females and 262 males) specimens was collected from October 2000 through November 2001 at Tahsi fish market. Reproductive season of this species was throughout year. Estimated disc width when 50% of individuals are mature were 44.4 cm (4.9 yr) and 38.6 cm (4.1 yr) for female and male, respectively.
Translucent band on vertebral centra were formed once a year at January to March. The parameters of von Bertalanffy growth equations estimated from vertebral readings were : L∞= 57.2 cm (DW), k = 0.288 yr -1, t 0 = -0.28 yr for females ; L∞= 51.0 cm, k = 0.300 yr -1, t 0 = -0.62 yr for males. The oldest ages are 9.8 yr and 8.1 yr for female and male, respectively.
Crustacean, squid and bony fish were the dominant food items for this species. Percentage of bony fish found in stomachs of this species was increased with the increasing body size.
