本研究的主要目的在探討台灣地區傳播相關研究所在職研究生的學習行為與其在職場上的工作效能之關係，並探究專才專用、工作薪資及學校課程走向與內容和工作效能的關係。本研究採用量化研究的問卷調查表對90年及91年入學的全國24所傳播相關研究所的408位在職研究生進行全面調查，及使用質化研究的深度訪談法對電視、廣播、報紙、雜誌、電影、網際網路、印刷、電訊傳播等八大行業的八位相關人員針對量化研究構面的多個問題進行深度訪談，在合併量化與質化的研究結果並進行整合性討論後發現：一、「學習行為」與「知識轉換模式」之間是存在著中度的正相關，「知識轉換模式」與「工作效能」之間是存在著中度的正相關，而「學習行為」與「工作效能」之間是存在著高度的正相關，因此，「學習行為」肯定是會影響「工作效能」的，「學習行為」對於「工作效能」是有正面幫助的。二、由「工作效能」來回顧它與「學習行為」之間的關係，印證得知「工作效能」最佳者其「學習行為」也是最佳的，而且他也是最能夠將學校的教育學以致用的。三、在職研究生的學習動機是以「工作遇到瓶頸」和「提昇自我本能」的因素為最多。四、大部分去傳播相關研究所再進修的在職者，大多都是出自於自己本身的意願，而非由在職者所在的公司所指派。
本研究並根據研究結論所得結果提出建議，以作為學術及社會實務之應用。

The goal of this research is to look into the relationship between the learning behavior and work efficiency of the in-service students in the communication-related graduate schools in Taiwan. It’s also the aim of this study to examine the connections between the students’ suitability for work, their salaries, orientation and contents of the courses. This study was take a quantitative approach as well as a qualitative one.. Questionnaires was be distributed to 408 graduate students in 24 communication-related graduate schools in Taiwan. The researcher was conduct in-depth interviews with 8 workers from the industries of television, radio, newspaper, magazines, film, internet, publishing, and telecommunication. Integrating quantitative as well as qualitative researches into this study, the findings include：first, there is a fair positive relation between “work efficiency” and “knowledge transformation model,” and between “knowledge transformation model” and “learning behavior.” There is a highly positive relation between “learning behavior” and “work efficiency.” Thus, “learning behavior” has a sure and positive impact on “work efficiency.” Secondly, in retrospect, best “work efficiency” and best “learning behavior” goes hand in hand. Those who perform their duties at workplace most efficiently can put into best practice what he / she has learned in school. Thirdly, the most common learning motivation among in-service students is ‘encountering a choke point at work,’ and “self-improvement instinct.” Fourthly, most in-service students go back to school out of one’s own will, not because of designation by his/her company.
The findings of this research can be useful to both the academic community and the industries.
