台灣地區一般中高層建築物大都存在著衛生排水器具存水彎封水破封的現象，造成建築性能上嚴重且無法有效解決的問題。本論文係屬排水通氣系統性能研究的基礎實驗，配合實驗塔規模以模擬13層住宅建築的壓力分布，以及實驗塔相關參數的確立；同時掌握公寓式住宅排水通氣立管系統的現況，調查結果顯示，台灣公寓式住宅建築絕大多數採用排水管與通氣管併設的雙管式系統，排水管路之設計以多管分流的排水立管型式為主，而立管結合通氣則是住宅通氣立管設計最被廣泛採用的型式。另一方面，根據國內建築排水設備系統設計規範之現況檢討發現，相關法令僅有目前的建築技術規則建築設備編之規定，不但沿用已久且未曾更新修訂。
長期以來排水系統的設置因位置隱密，少被重視，但是排水一旦發生問題，必然會使得整個給排水系統無法正常運作。建築物的排水是一種混相的流體現象，單純的排水在立管內也會造成壓力的變動，而管內的正負壓力變化現象則誘發存水彎水封的變動和損失。當排水負荷自建築物之高層部位向下排出時，將同時誘引通氣管內之空氣流入排水管，在排水負荷層正下方因自由落下排水加速牽引而形成管內負壓現象，容易造成吸入存水彎之水封而導致吸引破封現象。當排水落下接近排水橫主管部位時，由於減速水跳現象，形成相反之正壓推擠水封而容易導致低層部衛生器具存水彎的噴出破封現象。
本論文針對建築物排水通氣設備系統，從國內外既有研究文獻中，整理建築排水系統之性能評估理論與試驗設計和操作的方法，同時探討建築排水垂直立管之管內排水流體現象理論模式，建立國內之排水系統實驗裝置，並導入既有文獻的壓力預測公式，透過驗證和比較，對排水垂直立管之流體現象與管內空氣壓力分佈現象明確化，以實體模型驗證建築物高度與排水立管內產生之壓力變化關係，提供國內排水垂直立管系統性能評估與問題對策之基本參考。
本論文在研究成果上，主要結論如下：
一、 現況調查：透過調查以了解台灣目前排水通氣系統設計和使用的現況。
二、 理論整理：檢討中高層建築排水垂直立管之管內排水流體現象理論模式。
三、 實驗建置：本實驗塔為台灣第一座排水實驗塔，並參酌國外相關實驗的設置和性能試驗的量測規範，以作為後續相關性能實驗研究的基礎。
四、 解析驗證：確認排水實驗塔性能和立管各分區的阻抗係數與計算參數的解析，並以預測模式加以驗證，確認本實驗塔適用於預測模式的操作。
另外彙整國際間關於排水通氣設備的設計與施工動態，以提供國內在排水通氣領域上的研究和開發參考。

A drainage system in a building functions mainly to perform properly and maintain a sanitary environment for humans. A gravity drainage system without an energy supply is conventionally adopted in buildings worldwide. A trap with a simple structure is also preferred in most sanitary facilities owing its easy elimination of stench and vermin. Discharge of a drainage pipe, which is a complex phenomenon, may consist of water, air and solids. Air flow in the drainage stack is increased by mixing as well as the friction with falling water. This phenomenon induces negative pressure on the upper floors and the positive pressure on the lower floors in an apartment building. This preliminary study assess the performance of a drainage system. Drainage design theory and experimental systems are introduced based on a pertinent literature review. A full-scale model is then established to verify the design theory and clarify how building height and air pressure in a vertical drainage stack are related. The pressure forecast mode from the literature is also introduced to confirm the accuracy of this experimental tower. This study also addresses the frequency of the loss of seal water of trap in apartment buildings in Taiwan. Design guidelines for building drainage systems in Taiwan have not been updated for nearly three decades, and building drainage and vent systems have received little attention in literature. Here, fifty one housing cases and fifteen groups of professional designers are investigated. According to our results, most middle and high rise apartment buildings adopt the two pipe type system. Results in this study obtained from the experimental study method can provide a valuable reference for follow-up study and updating design guidelines.
