本研究目的在了解乳癌婦女術後的心理適應，乳癌婦女社會支持對心理適應之影響，以及接受乳房切除與乳房重建手術之乳癌婦女術後心理適應之差異。期能提供社會工作者進行處遇時的參考。本研究採橫斷式研究法，以立意取樣方式共蒐集102份有效問卷。
經過統計分析後，歸結出以下結論：平均而言，乳癌婦女並無焦慮與憂鬱狀況產生，但有中度的疾病不確定感，而乳癌婦女的自覺社會支持得分很高。年齡較長者、信仰基督宗教者、正接受化學治療者憂鬱程度較嚴重。自覺社會支持愈高，心理方面的適應較好。相較於接受乳房切除手術者，接受乳房重建的樣本年齡較輕、罹患癌症期數較早，未接受輔助性治療者較多，未接受抗荷爾蒙治療者較少，憂鬱程度較輕，疾病不確定感較低。乳癌婦女心理適應的預測因子方面，焦慮的重要預測因子為：自覺社會支持為。憂鬱的重要預測因子為：信仰基督宗教（相對於無宗教信仰）、接受化學治療（相對於未接受化學治療），與自覺社會支持。疾病不確定感的重要預測因子為：高中職學歷（相較於國初中以下學歷），與自覺社會支持、接受化學治療，以及接受化學治療與自覺社會支持的交互作用項。
