中 文 摘 要
本研究旨在探討嚴重威脅生命之疾病(癌症)如何被患者接受、習得與疾病共處之生活適應過程,並探討其適應過程中所擁有之復原力,以及復原力對其未來及生命之影響。
研究採用質性研究中的深度訪談法蒐集資料,共訪談三位罹患癌症但目前病情穩定及生活適應良好者,訪談後針對所蒐集到的資料進行分析,並綜合歸納整理三位研究參與者訪談資料之異同。研究結果發現如下:
一、癌症患者在生活適應的調整上,包括負向情緒、情緒控制、自我調適、珍惜自己、看開生命、同理心、思考生命、平靜心靈及積極生活等九項
二、癌症患者在生活適應過程中所擁有之復原力因子,包括堅忍力、同理心、正向積極、社會支持、分離危險因素、自我激勵、對未來有希望感、學會放鬆、尋求資源、宗教信仰及幽默等十一項。
三、復原力對癌症患者之未來及生命的影響包括:幸福感、同理心、勇敢面對死亡、感恩、變得更積極、關心他人、看重生命及把握現在等八個部份。
研究者根據上述研究結果加以討論,並據此結果提供建議以作為其他癌症患者、專業助人工作者及未來研究者之參考依據。
A study of resilience on cancer’s client

Abstract
The purpose of this research is to understand how the cancer clients learn to get along with their disease, and explore their resilience in their adaptation, as well as how their resilience affects their future life. By using the method of the depth interview of the qualitative research for data collection. After the interviews, researcher carefully analyzed the collected data and attempted to find out the differences and the similarities among the three cancers clients. The study results are as followed:
1.How the cancer clients adjust their life adaptation includes: negative emotion, emotional control, self adjustment, cherishing oneself, open-mindedness, empathy, contemplating upon the life, peaceful feeling, and positive living.
2.The resilient factors of the clients include: fortitude, empathy, optimism, social support, removal of the risky factors, self-encouragement, hope, relaxation, resource seeking, religious belief, and humor.
3.The effects of the clients’ resilience upon their future life include: sense of the well-being, empathy, facing the death bravely, a grateful mind, becoming more positive, caring for other people, valuing his or her life, and seizing the day.
Suggestions and recommendations of this study are discussed in this thesis, with my hope that it would be helpful to other cancer clients, professional social workers, and the researchers in the future.
