將無線網路環境與網際網路結合已是目前的趨勢,在眾多解決方案裡,Mobile IP是最受到矚目的一個。
雖然Mobile IP具有移動性(mobility)、相容性等優點,卻因三角繞徑問題使得Mobile IP必須花費許多額外的流量在Home Agent、Foreign Agents與Correspondent Nodes之間傳遞訊息以維持Mobile Node的移動性。如此一來,整體效率便不如一般點對點的直接連線。當Mobile Node所在的Foreign Agent與其Home Agent之距離越遠時,問題越形嚴重,因此重新指定Home Agent是一個重要的研究課題。
本文提出一個針對行動IP網路之決策函數供行動使用者決定是否指定新的 Home Agent以減少額外的訊號與資料流量,間接地也使有限的網路資源(如頻寬等)得以有效使用。該方法以成本分析為基礎,本文中亦詳列該成本分析方法。由實驗結果顯示此一決策函數有效地減少訊號及資料傳輸的延遲。
