組織間發展合作關係已經是一股沛然莫之能禦的潮流,不論是策略聯盟或是夥伴關係都正在各個行業、各個角落如火荼地展開。然而,合作並非萬靈丹,也不是必然成功的保證,我們可以看到許多合作關係大張旗鼓的開始,最後卻以反目成仇收場。許多研究如何維繫合作關係的論述因而產生。大部份關於這方面的研究多從(1)供應鏈或聯盟管理的方向著手,談到利益分配、文化衝突或是相互的信任及承諾等情感訴求。或是(2)合作模式,譬如合資交換董事等管理手段或所有權手段等。縱觀以上論述,似乎缺少一個能夠評估期間長短及目前所在位置的架構,能夠避開支節上的討論,從更深入的角度討論追求長期合作關係的本質。
其實,人類並非自然界中唯一會合作及結盟的生物。大自然中各式各樣的共生現象更是令人目不暇給、匪夷所思。所以本研究向大自然借用靈感,建立一個以共生為基礎的模型,並將此模型推演擴充,使之適用於組織間合作關係之評量。此模型包含退出障礙及利益直接衝突程度兩構面,義務性互利共生、群體生態-主從關係、非義務性互利共生、不穩定性互容等四個象限。
提出完整的研究模型後即將其應用於實例探討及與現有之各家學說對照比較,驗證本研究模型可應用於實務工作且與其他觀點之學說僅有觀察角度之不同,並無相互抵觸之處。最後並提出相關命題,意以對後續研究者及實務界人士提出若干建議。
