科技文明的演變改變了人類的社會與生活,環境的劇烈變動使得企業過往的成功模式將無法適應迅速變化的外在環境。企業唯有迅速並持續地因應環境變遷來改變自己所具有的獨特競爭優勢,才能在眾多競爭者中脫穎而出,繼續保有領先的優勢。關於競爭優勢的主要來源,策略學界提出了許多不同的看法,而最新的理論為David J. Teece et al.(1994, 1997)所提出的動態能力理論,主張以程序、位置、路徑等三個構面來分析企業應如何對環境的變化做出適當的回應動作,才能以有價值、稀有的、無法替代且不能仿製的資源,來維持競爭地位。
本研究以國內歷史最悠久的裕隆汽車為研究主體,以個案研究的方式從裕隆汽車的發展沿革,並佐以近年來成為企業發展主體的海外投資策略相關資料,企圖以動態能力的理論來驗證裕隆汽車的發展過程中,因為能夠適當的因應市場環境的改變而得以在高度競爭的環境中持續維持領先地位,並且在海外投資進入新市場時,順利的將過去有效的策略模式轉化以配合投資目標地時空環境,而得以成功在新市場打下良好的基礎,更進一步尋求發展。
