本論文針對路來討論距離標號，在第二部分，我們改進已知的上界並證明改進後的上界是最佳的標號，也就是等號成立。第三部分則對路的距離標號討論一般化的情形，我們給出一個特殊的標號，無論所給的路有多少個點，只需標好前若干個點然後將標號加以重複即可，前若干個點與所考慮的層級(k)有關，但由於一般化的情形複雜了許多，於是只證明在某些限制下此具重複的標號為最佳。
