在無線區域網路(Wireless LAN)與整合封包無線通訊服務(GPRS)兩個異質移動式網路環境下的整合上,如何提供服務品質的保障是一個重要的議題.而在這種移動式網路下,影響QoS的最主要就是handoff時可能面臨的新網路頻寬未事先預留而造成效能降低的問題.在本論文中以在有線網路環境下發展的RSVP為基礎,透過修改與增加RSVP分別在這兩個網路上建構各自的QoS架構,使他們各自具有主動在現存網路與被動在將到訪網路預留頻寬的能力,並加以整合.
除此之外,我們在自工研院購得的GPRS simulator上在GPRS環境實作了前述架構下的主動要求頻寬功能,為了達到這個QoS架構的功能,我們還提出了一個分工的軟體架構.
在此軟體架構下包含了三個block,一個以RSVP為基礎的QoS block,透過此block可以使在網路上支援此服務品質保障架構的節點互相溝通並建立相關的state;一個SIP block,透過實作一個SIP(Session Initiation Protocol)的extension method
讓使用者可以對QoS block發出要求,並且將call setup等與應用層相關的程序與跟網路層相關的QoS議題分開;最後一個Traffic Control block則接受QoS block的設定實際對流過節點的traffic作控管達成QoS的要求.透過這個軟體架構的分工,我們希望未來想要改進QoS架構時,能讓整個系統作最小的更動即可到達效果。
