資料倉儲是用來儲存企業的所有以往以及正在運作的現今的所有資料,並結合線上分析處理(OLAP)來分析資料,提供資訊給企業決策者,以利做決策。 OLAP系統透過多維度資料模式來組織要分析的量測以及所需要的維度。與事實資料表(fact table)變動性較高的資料比起來,維度資料表(dimension tables)是比較不常變動。但在現實中,維度資料表可能會隨著時間,或甚至是自然的遷移、需求,而自然的會改變。這些改變也必須更新到資料倉儲中;這些改變可能是 結構性更新,也可能是資料性更新。本篇論文是針對維度資料表更新提出個別的維護運算公式來維持正確的實體化視域。
