參與職業訓練學員對成人學習原則應用之知覺與訓練成效關係之研究

摘 要
本研究是以公共職業訓練機構參訓學員為研究對象,進行成人學習原則應用之知覺與訓練成效關係的研究。旨在瞭解參與公共職業訓練的學員,對於成人學習原則應用之知覺與訓練成效之間的關係,提供有關單位辦理職業訓練活動之參考。
研究的進行,經由相關文獻探討的結果,以問卷調查法進行之。研究對象係以六所公共職業訓練機構之參訓學員為主,共得有效樣本1047份,研究工具為「職訓學員對成人學習原則應用之知覺與訓練成效調查問卷」,包含「成人學習原則應用之知覺量表」、「訓練成效自評量表」及「基本資料」三部分。統計方法之使用包括描述統計、平均數差異考驗、單因子變異數分析、皮爾森積差相關及多元逐步迴歸分析等。研究結論歸納如下:
一、受試者感受到成人學習原則的應用,其中以「主動參與學習活動」 的知覺程度最高。
二、影響受試者對成人學習原則應用之知覺的相關因素,包括性別、年齡、教育程度、訓練機構地區別、訓練班別及訓練時間。
三、受試者對訓練成效抱持肯定的態度,其中以「對實際工作場域行為的助益」成效最高。
四、影響訓練成效的相關因素,包括性別、訓練機構地區別、訓練班別及訓練時間。
五、「成人學習原則應用之知覺」與「訓練成效」二者之間有正相關,且成人學習原則應用之知覺是預測訓練成效的重要因素。
依據上述結論,本研究提出幾點建議以供參考:
一、對辦理公共職業訓練相關機構之建議
(一)提供職業訓練師成人教育專業訓練。
(二)針對學員的個別差異加強成人學習原則的應用。
(三)針對個別差異提供學員因材施教的課程,強化訓練成效。
(四)加強對參訓學員需求的評估及知識態度與技能的評鑑。
二、對職業訓練師之建議
(一)瞭解授課班級學員的個別背景及經驗,允許學員依自己的程度調整學習的步調。
(二)依學員的個別差異將成人學習原則融入教學設計中。
三、對後續研究之建議
(一)以不同機構的參訓學員為研究對象。
(二)將訓練中心的職業訓練師或參訓學員的主管納入研究對象。
(三)除問卷調查外,可考慮輔以訪談法、觀察法及採用實驗研究法。
(四)宜增加其他變項進行探討,如學員的工作年資、參訓原因、訓練內容設計及訓練師的教學年資等。

A Study Of The Relationship Between The Adult Student’s Perspective Of The Application of Adult Learning Principles And The Effectiveness Of This

ABSTRACT
The objective of this study is to evaluate the relationship between the adult student’s perspective of the application of adult learning principles and the effectiveness of this career training. The findings of this study will form a basis of reference for the establishment and management of existing (or proposed) career training institutions for adult students.
This study is based on the review of related documents and a survey of six public career training institutions, with a sample size of 1047. The “Survey of the adult student’s perspective of the application of adult learning principles and the effectiveness of the career training” comprises three sections — “Scorecard of perspective of the application of adult learning principles”, “Training effectiveness scorecard” and “Basic information”. The statistical principles applied include descriptive statistics, paired t-test, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson''s product moment correlation and multiple stepwise regression analysis etc. Findings of the study are as follows:
1) Respondents were aware of the application of adult learning principles and the level of perspective was highest for “participating in this program actively”.
2) Factors that impact the adult students’ perspective of the application of adult learning principles include gender, age, educational background, location of training institute, type of training courses and training schedules.
3) Respondents were positive about the effectiveness of the training especially in the category of “enhancing effectiveness in a practical working environment”.
4) Factors that impact the effectiveness of the training include gender, location of the training institutes, type of training courses and training schedules.
5) There is a direct relationship between “Perspective of the application of adult learning principles” and “Training effectiveness” in that the former is a prerequisite to assess the latter.
Based on the outcome of the study, we have made the following recommendations:
1) Establishing public career training institutions
a) Provide specialized training for instructors at professional training institutions for adult students - “Train the trainer”.
b) Assess the characteristics of the students and tailor the application of adult learning principles accordingly.
c) Assess the characteristics and specific needs of the students and increase the effectiveness of training by tailoring the course content and teaching methods accordingly.
d) Apply a more rigorous method of evaluating the students’ needs, level of knowledge and technical capabilities.
2) Suggestions for the professional instructors
a) Understand the background and experience of each student and encourage them to learn at their own pace.
b) Tailor the training plan and the application of adult learning principles according to the students’ needs.
3) Suggestions for further research
a) Select students from a wide variety of corporations as respondents.
b) Include in your study the instructors or the supervisors of the student groups from the training institutions.
c) In addition to the survey, adopt other methods like interviews, observation and practical experiments.
d) Include other parameters like the student’s compensation package, reason for attending the training, course content and the compensation packages for the instructors etc.
