  在對廠商績效差異的探討上,傳統的產業組織理論和近年來發展的資源基礎觀點提供了兩個相對的解釋。首先從產業組織理論的角度出發,廠商績效的差異深受產業結構之影響;其次,依資源基礎的觀點來看,廠商的績效表現則反映出企業內部資源的差異。本研究欲探討這兩種不同觀點對於企業績效的解釋能力,以近年來在台灣經濟發展中,扮演關鍵地位的電子業為研究對象,並以各種創新成果作為績效衡量的指標。
  本研究以台灣電子業公開發行公司為母體進行抽樣問卷調查,資料的收集以發放問卷為主並搭配次級資料的方式取得。共發出747份問卷,回收有效問卷80份(回收率10.7%)研究方法採用階層迴歸模型及變異數分析為主,以分析主要變數和交互作用項對企業創新績效的影響。
  研究結果顯示,企業能力和市場結構對於企業創新績效均呈現正向且顯著的解釋能力。在比較這兩者主要變數的解釋能力高低上,企業能力要略勝市場結構一籌。另外在交互作用項的探討上,策略明確度和技術能力的組合有助於創新績效的達成;而同業競爭和企業能力的組合,則明顯弱化企業在創新績效上的表現。
  To examine the sources of firm performance, traditional IO and the RBV emerged in the 1990s yield the contrasting explanatory power. From the perspective of industrial organization, firm performance is subject to market structure; on the contrary, RBV inclines to see performance differentials among firms in a given industry from the view of disparity of internal resources. This study is aimed to examine the innovation performance effects of both perspectives based on the sample of Taiwan’s electronic firms which play an important role in the economic development in the past three decades.
  Upon 747 questionnaires sent out to publicly listed companies in Taiwan’s electronic industries, there are 80 valid questionnaires, yielding a return rate of 10.7%. The sample has been analyzed using the moderated hierarchical regression to examine the direct and interaction effects of firm capabilities, market positions and strategic posture on innovation performance.
  The results show that (1) both firm capabilities and market positions offer explanatory power over performance differentials but the former does it better than the latter; (2) the tight coupling of technological capabilities and strategic posture is conducive to innovation; (3) market rivalry moderates the linkage between firm capabilities and innovation.
