本研究的目的是想了解非行少年對家庭與父母的印象與期待。邀請八位非行少年敘說非行經驗及其對家庭的知覺。研究發現,非行少年之非行經驗,跟家庭有密切關係。從受訪者非行經驗的敘說,到他們對家庭的概念,主要發現為: (一)為何走入荊棘之途。主要是對師長的管教不滿,懷有怨懟,有強大負面情緒能量。少年在大人世界中被推出來,於是轉而向同儕求助。(二)跟爸爸的關係。父親無法讓家庭功能維持正常。無效的親子溝通,沒有責任的爸爸。(三)跟媽媽的關係。孩子跟母親少聊天,母親會說教、指責。母親多半是暴力與壓力下無辜的受害者,有時比子女更需要人扶持。(四)親子衝突經驗。親子之間無效溝通,導致以衝突進行溝通。親子衝突的導因,主要是過度監控和不尊重。(五)對婚姻與家庭的期待。受訪少年對理想的結婚對象有清楚了概念。要成家先要立業,先有經濟基礎做後盾,他們對於婚姻期待相當高。(六)窗外有藍天。受訪者會用最基本的「家庭倫理」這個架構,去看待他們跟家庭的關係。「我要活下去」是他們共同的心聲。他們最大的心願,就是不要讓家庭成為「破裂家庭」。
基於以上研究結果,本研究提出若干建言,包括:(一)政府方面。設立一個專責整合的追蹤非行少年流動的部門,並且在各縣市設立單一窗口相互聯繫。(二)社區方面。給予非行少年精神上的支持,避免歧視標籤。開設社區運動技能團隊。(三)學校方面。辦理課後輔導與親職教育,辦理老師認識非行少年課程,並作為非行少年與社會資源的橋樑。(四)老師方面。增加對非行少年與家庭背景認知與理解。家庭訪問化被動為主動。善用外圍機構志工團體。(五)在家庭工作者方面。志工師資訓練與提供。父母親親職課程規劃。對家長之情緒輔導與支持。(六)未來研究方面。包括非行少年長期追蹤研究、家人納入研究對象、針對非行少年成長的議題深入探討,以及針對學校老師教學的議題。
This study is aimed at finding out the expectation and perception that the juvenile delinquents withhold towards their parents and family. Through interviews with eight juvenile delinquents, the researcher collected data about juvenile delinquency and the delinquents’ perceptions towards a family. The researcher observed that the juvenile delinquency is very much related to their individual family. From the subjects’ description on their own misleading behaviors and their conception towards a family, the researcher revealed the findings are:
(1) The reason why they lost themselves: The subjects didn’t agree with the manner that their parents treated them. They found no way to tell their parents how they felt. So much anger and disagreement had driven them away from their family. They turned to their peer groups to find some respect.
(2) The interaction between the subjects and their fathers: Their fathers were unable to maintain a normal function of their family. Their fathers were lack of responsibilities towards their family. The communication between them had always been invalid and in vain.
(3) The interaction between the subjects and their mothers: Their mothers always criticized or scolded their behavior. The subjects hardly had any opportunities to chat with their mothers. To make thing even worse was that their mothers were also the victims of marriage violence. (4) The conflict arising between parent and children: The invalid communication with their parents has often led to a conflict.
(5) Their expectation towards marriage and family life: They had a clear concept and idea towards the marriage they hope for. They understood they needed to have a stable financial situation before they really step into a marriage.
(6) “A room with a view”: They looked forwards to regain their normal life, to be accepted by the public and to return to the society. Their ultimate hope was to have their own happy family.
Based on the findings, the researcher would like to provide the following suggestions:
(1)In the aspect of government: The installment of a juvenile delinquents unit in the central government and each county/city government.
(2)In the aspect of community: The provision of the psychological support to the juvenile delinquents. Avoiding labeling them and organizing a sport team within the community.
(3)In the aspect of school: Providing them with after-school counseling and their parents with parenting education. Providing school teachers with comprehension courses on juvenile delinquents. This is for bridging the connection between juvenile delinquents and the society.
(4)In the aspect of teacher: Teachers’ understanding on juvenile delinquents’ family background is needed to be increased. Teachers play a more aggressive role by paying a regular home visit to the subjects. Teachers are encouraged to make good use of the assistance form volunteers groups.
(5)In the aspect of social workers: The provision of training on volunteer teachers, the scheduling on parenting education, the emotional counseling and support to the parents.
(6)In the future aspect: A long-term follow-up research on juvenile delinquents and their families, a more detailed investigation on the issue of juvenile growth and some possible teaching directions at school.
