本論文的研究目的是要探討序列反應作業(Serial reaction time task)中「時間間隔結構(Response to Stimulus Interval, structure)」所扮演的角色。實驗一操弄時間間隔元素與空間元素數目的異同,籍以了解時間間隔結構與動作序列是否產生相關。實驗二是為了要釐清空間序列與時間間隔結構之間的相依性,以隨機的方式呈現空間序列,結果證實了時間間隔結構是必須依附在空間序列才可習得,顯示時間間隔結構是影響動作表徵的整合及協調。實驗三是在空間序列和時間間隔結構元素個數相符合的情況下,籍由操弄時間間隔時間的長短以及間隔結構比例的難易程度(1:2:3 或1:2.5:3.5),來解析時間間隔結構內在因素對於整個作業的影響。實驗四則是徵求熟悉鋼琴彈奏的人(專家)來參與實驗,因為經年的練習導致他們對於整合視覺訊息及手部運動的協調性較高,同時也可能導致他們容易偵測到時間間隔的結構,所以不僅是局部的視覺運動整合,或者是整體性的結構性訊息,透過與一般人(生手)的比較,得以讓我們清楚理解這兩種的運作機制。
The goal of this study was to examine the role of response-to-stimulus interval (RSI) in a spatial serial reaction time task. In Experiment 1, element numbers in a RSI structure and a spatial structure were manipulated to examine how these two structures interacted with each other. In Experiment 2, in order to realize the relationship between RSI and spatial structures, the RSI structures were parameterized in the task with a randomized spatial sequence. In Experiment 3, the duration and ratio of RSI structure were varied to see how different aspects of the RSI structure influence this motor learning task. In Experiment 4, experts and novices in visuomotor performance were recruited in the same task for differentiating the mechanisms for extracting local and global knowledge in the RSI structure.
