案例式設計 (Case-based design) 是再利用過去經驗的一種設計典範。在案例式設計運用的過程中,由於當案例資料僅以數位化靜態的圖像呈現,個案的修改或是調整(case adaptation)再利用,往往是最困難的工作之一。不過,這問題可以透過整合衍生式系統於案例式設計系統來加以解決。整合式的系統便能提供設計師立即的案例調整。在手機設計過程中,與大部分產品一樣,廣泛的使用標準化的解決問題方式,因此,本研究以手機設計為例,嘗試開發一個整合衍生式系統的案例式設計系統,藉由這系統來輔助設計師在手機先期開發過程的設計並提供設計師可以有效的開發設計方案。
Case-based design (CBD) is a paradigm for re-using past experience. Among the main phases of the CBD, case revision or adaptation is considered as one of the more difficult problems, because data can be shown only as digitized static pictures. This problem can be solved by including a generative system within a CBD system and this integrated system offers designers, instantly, the ability for case adaptation. This research presents a design assistant that supports designers in the mobile phone design process using CBD with a generative capability. This approach is particularly promising for the mobile design domain for the following reasons: there is widespread use of standardized solutions that reflect commonly accepted products in that industry and this supports designers in exploring more alternatives in the early phases of the design process.
