非營利組織要提供符合宗旨的服務，達成使命或目標，就必須有人來領導它，因此具決策性及執行性的領導者－董事及執行長，對非營利組織之營運有重大影響力。本研究欲探討非營利組織之董事及執行長的經歷背景對非營利組織之經營績效的影響，而經營績效方面，係以資金流入流出的金額來加以衡量。
　　實證結果發現，在董事特性與經營績效之關係方面，只發現董事規模與目的事業支出呈顯著正相關，董事任期與目的事業支出呈顯著負相關，而董事企業背景與任何一個經營績效皆呈現不顯著，因此無法證明其具體影響。在執行長特性與經營績效之關係方面，執行長任期、企業背景與所有經營績效層面，包括捐贈收入、事業營收、政府補助、目的事業支出均呈顯著正相關，而執行長兼任董事與組織之經營績效均呈正相關，但未達顯著水準。此外，本研究其他組織特性作為控制變數，其與經營績效之關係方面，發現組織規模與每個經營績效層面呈顯著正相關；企業型基金會與每個經營績效層面呈顯著負相關，而組織年齡與每個經營績效層面均無顯著相關。
