在這篇論文裡,我們所探討的邊界值問題是來自於一個有關圓形彈性面上損壞變形的現象.我們藉由shooting的方法來分析探討這個問題.首先由數值上來看這個問題,我們發現只要給定的初始值大於0.8,就可以找到原始問題的解.在來由理論分析上來探討這個問題,我們發現一個值大約0.6299...,當給定的初始值小於0.6299時,整個邊界值原始問題的解是不存在的.

In this thesis, a boundary value problem (BVP) arising from the deformation in a plane circular elastic surface is studied. By means of shooting method, a family of solutions have been found numerically under a suitable shooting parameter. Our analytic study verify that there is small initial value which is smaller that 0.8 such that such that the BVP has no solution.
