Transparent and conductive ITO films were prepared on plastic substrate by RF sputtering. The relationship between structure characteristics and optical as well as electrical properties was investigated in this study. For producing the OLED (Organic Light-emitting Diode), the transparent conductive films are generally deposited on the glass. Because plastic substrate has the advantages of low cost, light-weighted, and rugged characteristics, it was considered as the materials of the next period for the structure of display.
Organic light emitting devices were deposited on Indium tin oxide (ITO) plastic substrate by high vacuum evaporator system. In our study, the device configurations of flexible red OLEDs using multilayer structure were ITO / m-MTDATA (550 Å) / NPB (400 Å) / emitting layer / TPBI (400 Å) / Mg:Ag (1500 Å) with Ir(DBQ)2(acac) doped with various host, providing a red-light emission from emitting layer.
It is showed that the performance of red OLED using CBP doped with Ir(DBQ)2(acac) is similar to MCP doped with Ir(DBQ)2(acac). This could be explained from PL spectrum of CBP or MCP have similar overlap with absorption spectrum of Ir(DBQ)2(acac).
