本研究旨在探討文章可讀性與難易度對成人嬝牧篲x的影響。實驗一發現高齡者嬝玥異糮嶊滌O憶表徵會因為文章的可讀性不同而異。提高文章可讀性可以增加高齡者嬝玨z解測驗題的得分。實驗二針對大學生進行以眼動儀收集線上嬝知{,並檢視不同階段年齡中,可讀性與文章難易度對嬝牧篲x的影響是否一致。結果發現,在大學生的離線表徵中,可讀性與難易度均未造成明顯的差異。在線上資料方面,雖然大學生在嬝玨z解成績及可讀性評定量表上,可讀性與文章難易度對其嬝玨z解表徵影響均未達顯著。但是在眼動型態上則可以看到差異。大學生嬝炙i讀性高與難度較高的文章時,會有較多重新回視的的眼動型態。大學生在嬝炙i讀性高的文章時,重新回視重要訊息的時間與次數增多;在嬝秉曮袑牧漱撜僥氶A也比較會再回過頭去檢視。另外,發現當文章經修改出適當的主題句時,讀者可以比較快速進入狀況。如果沒有清楚的主題句,會造成讀者立即回視的嬝物牯A增加。再進一步比較實驗一與實驗二的結果,發現高齡者與大學生在可讀性部分嬝玨z解成績有交互作用。提高文章可讀性對不同年齡讀者的影響不同。對於已經有老化因素影響嬝牧穛{的高齡者而言,適當地提高可讀性有助於幫助高齡者有較好的理解。但是以目前的材料而言,在大學生身上則看不出提高可讀性對其嬝玨z解的效果。
The purpose of this thesis is to explore how readability influences adults’reading comprehension in expository texts. Exp. I indicates that increased readability texts benefits the elders’reading comprehension. In Exp. II, there is no significant effect on young adults. Interactions between young and old adults in readability effects was found, that indicates well-written texts benefits the elders more than young adults.
In Exp. II, an online and of line comparison was made. Increased rereading durations and times and rereading rates were found in higher readability and word frequencies texts. Since no significant effect in young adults data, there are different processes between online and offline reading comprehension.
