地理群播(geocasting)是一種傳統多重播送(multicasting)的問題。若一個節點(node)在某一個區域裡面,它就會接收地理群播封包(geocast packet)。本篇論文提出一個快速分群的多地理區域(multiple geographical regions)之地理群播(geocasting)技術,我們利用地理區域間的夾角來做為區域分群的依據,並以群組(group)作為群播之單位來傳送封包。我們提出來的方法是屬於在無線任意網路(wireless ad hoc network)環境的需求導向路由協定(on-demand routing protocol)。我們的目標是降低MgCast [13]的路由計算時間(routing computation time)。實驗結果顯示,只要採用簡易的分群策略,即可迅速建立地理群播路由,且路由發覺率(route discovery ratio)與MgCast [13]相當。我們也介紹往前看策略(Look-ahead Scheme)用來提高路由發覺率(route discovery ratio)。使用這個策略,我們不需要大量的增加路由請求(route request)訊息量。
Geocast is a different version of the conventional multicast problem. It species whether the nodes are its group members by the geographical location of the nodes. In this thesis, we propose an e±cient degree-based routing protocol for multicasting to multiple geographical regions in a wireless mobile ad hoc network (MANET) environment. Our goal is to improve the routing time performance of route discovery process in MgCast [13]. The simulation results show that our method makes routing computation faster than MgCast in the same routing environment. We also introduce the Look-ahead scheme to increase route discovery ratio without highly increasing the number of RREQ messages.
