Police station is the most important execution unit in the police department; it is the government’s window of enforcing the law, it is also the most widely spread unit of Civil Service. However, the business articles are many and diverse for the police station. As the result, the chief of the station faces long working hours, high pressure, and heavy responsibilities; the satisfaction of the chief of the station towards the work influences greatly on the results of the public security. The research target is the chief of police station of Chang Hua County police department; the research is mainly quantity and assists with quality, and use the discovery of quality study to prove the analysis of quantity study. For the quantity study, the method is using survey on the target participants, 70 surveys were given out and 68 retrieved, the percentage of valid survey is 97.14%. Then process the correlation coefficient analysis, and single and dual variable ANOVA on the data gathered with surveys. For the quality study, pick out 6 chief of police station using non-random and convenient sampling strategy for interview. The quantity study discovers: the average satisfaction towards working of the chiefs is 3.37, which is higher, then the mean value, this shows that chiefs are pleased with the job, but not yet reached “satisfy.” In the ANOVA of three viewpoint on chief himself, position, organization property, and satisfaction of working, only “Age” and “Seniority” have remarkable relationship while others does not have remarkable relationship. For the 12 viewpoint ANOVA on chief himself, position, organization property, and satisfaction of working, “Age,” “Position,” and “Working location” shows remarkable relationship while others does not have remarkable relationship. In the 12 viewpoint of the satisfaction towards the job, the viewpoint that achieves the highest mark is relation with parallel colleagues, the average score is 3.83, it shows the chief is most satisfy with the relation with parallel colleagues. On the other hand, the viewpoint with the lowest score is job safety, average score is 2.40, it shows chief is not pleased with the safety of the job. The quality study discovers: the position of chief is assigned by the higher authorities, so the job lacks motivation and inclination for holding the post in long-term. For the achievements and setbacks obtained with the job, generally, the achievements are greater then the setbacks. The desire of deploy to other position with same rank is high due to the overwhelming of workload and working pressure. In the viewpoint of interpersonal relationship, to construct fine interaction with subordinate is the most important matter. Believe the adequate authorization from the superintendent and satisfy with the leading style of the superintendent. Believe the leading style of superintendent is high system and high understanding but slightly slanting towards high system. Have the sense of belonging and identification to employed police department and whole police work, but the software and hardware of the employed department cannot satisfy the demands. Averagely, satisfy with the salary. Believe there is better chance for promotion, but hope to build up a clear system of priority promotion. Believe strengthen the training, stick to the principle of administrating by laws, and fulfill legislation capability is the best way to ensure the job and personal safety. For the encouraging specific actives and suggestion, there are establish the channel of priority promotion, practice deputy system, adequate authorization, reasonable work demand, and raise the salary. Finally, based on the evidence and analysis result, raises the conclusion and suggestion for the police department administration to refer to and provide suggestion for the following researchers.
