本研究目的在探討住院慢性精神分裂症病患自我效能與自我照顧能力之相關性並找出重要預測因子。採立意取樣法於南部某精神科專科醫院慢性病房，選取精神分裂症之男性病患一百五十位為研究對象。研究工具為結構式問卷，內容包括四部分：一、個人基本資料（含基本屬性與疾病因素）；二、精神症狀檢查表；三、自我效能量表；四、自我照顧能力量表。資料分析採描述性統計、皮爾遜積差相關分析、t檢定、單因子變異數分析及逐步複線性迴歸（stepwise multiple linear regression）分析。
研究結果發現：研究對象之自我效能平均得分146.75分，得分指標47.73﹪，自我效能三因素中平均值得分最高為「社交技巧」2.75分，最低是「避免負向思考」2.69分。自我照顧能力之得分指標為49.39﹪，以「排泄型態」獨立程度最高;「健康認知與健康問題處理型態」，獨立程度最低。精神症狀嚴重度與自我效能達顯著負相關；精神症狀嚴重度與自我照顧能力達顯著負相關；自我效能與自我照顧能力達顯著正相關；自我效能顯著預測因子是精神症狀嚴重度、專科與高中教育程度；而自我照顧能力顯著預測因子是精神症狀嚴重度、自我效能、工作狀態、教育程度。
本研究結果將提供精神科護理人員協助擬定適當的護理措施，以促進個案的自我效能並提升其自我照顧能力，進而改善生活品質。

The purpose of this study was to investigate the related factors of self- efficacy and self-care as well as the significant predictors of self-efficacy and self-care capabilities of hospitalized patients with chronic schizophrenia, A total of 130 subjects were recruited with purposive sampling from chronic wards of a professional psychiatric hospital in southern Taiwan. Five instruments, including a set of demographic characteristics, a psychotic symptoms scale , an extra-pyramidal symptoms scale, a self-efficacy scale, and a self-care capabilities scale were used to collect data. Descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA ,a non parametric analysis, a Persons correlation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis were utilized to test the research hypotheses.
The findings of this study showed. the mean score of self-efficacy was 146.75 and a score indicator was 47.73﹪.The mean scores of social skills adjustment of psychiatric symptoms, and avoiding negative thinking were 2.75 and 2.69, respectively. The of self-care scoring indicator was 49.39﹪. Among the subscales of self-care scale, participants showed highest independences in elimination pattern and lowest independence in Health recognition and health management.
The severity of psychotic symptoms was negatively correlated with personal self-efficacy. Participants, severity of the psychotic symptoms score was negatively related to personal self-care capabilities and self-efficacy score was positively related to self-care capabilities. The significant predictors for self-efficacy included the severity of psychotic symptoms, and education level. The significant predictors for self-efficacy included education level, employment status, self-efficacy, and the severity of psychotic symptoms.
The findings of this study could provide found a mental for clinical nurses in designing appropriate nursing implementations for patients with chronic schizophrenia in order to enhance patients self-efficacy and self-care to improve their quality of life.
