　　環境信託是自然保育的一種方法，運用信託方式將資產委託給具有保育意識與專業的團體，由他們經營管理以達成永久保護的目標。台灣於民國八十五年公布「信託法」又於九十二年五月公布「環境保護公益信託許可及監督辦法」，對於信託應用於環境保護方面已有明確的監督與運作方法。本研究試圖應用環境信託於私有林地經營管理上，以探討是否能同時達到私有林生態環境保護與私有林農經濟能力提昇等雙贏局面。
　　在研究中發現私有林農對於環境信託之理念認同，卻對制度實施方式懷疑，因此受訪者在林地經營管理上，認為欲保護環境以目前經營方式比環境信託可行，探究其原因主要是私有林農對於環境信託陌生，因此環境信託在推行上應加強呼籲，才能讓私有林農接受此方式。本研究建議可以先由一筆土地開始進行，由非營利組織採承租的方式加以經營管理實施環境保護，直至一定成果時將會提昇林農之接受度。

　National trust is a way of conservation, which is using trust to entrust property to the team of understanding conservation in order to reach the goal of sustainable conservation by professional management. As a result of this concern, a series of laws relating to trust of conservation have been released in recent years. The dissertation intends to realise if there is a way to approach conservation of private forestland and improvement of agricultural economy through management method.
　The study illustrates the owners of private forestland commonly accept the idea of national trust, but doubt if the mechanism does work. On the other hand, they prefer to manage forestland by using present method rather than national trust. The major objection to national trust is the lack of understanding. It supposes the only way to encourage private forestland owners accept this instrument is to take longer time to advocate this idea. It suggests to have an experiment on one piece of land, meanwhile it can make national trust a more acceptable policy to land owners.
