摘要
物流是最近幾年受到學者、企業家、及政府官員高度重視的一項課題。學術界投入研究與開設課程,企業家重視核心能力與專業分工,政府官員強調運籌管理與國家競爭力,處處都與物流有密切相關,而電子商務的蓬勃發展更在同時增強了它的重要性。
物流公司的營業據點位置可能會影響到它本身及其客戶的利益。因此對營業據點位置的充分考慮是有意義的。究竟物流公司在選擇營業據點時,業者的考慮因素是什麼?本研究以此為主題做了一番探索。
首先,研究者對物流的意義做相關文獻的探討,分別有國內外的物流學者及物流管理協會等單位對物流及其相關名詞上的定義,接著也節錄部份實務業者的見解,然後本研究綜合整理後再提出在本研究中的定義。
其次,針對物流公司在選擇營業據點時可能列入考慮的項目詳細蒐集了23個,然後分門別類的歸納出五大因素,分別為:法令因素、安全性因素、成本因素、便利性因素、及市場機會因素。其中法令與安全性為無可妥協之項目,因此不列入探討對象,而對後三項因素每項另以不同的子構面展開而設計問卷向各類型的物流公司發出,以探討其在考慮營業據點時對各子構面因素的重視程度。
研究的結果發現不同規模的物流公司在某些研究子構面上的重視程度有顯著差異。此外,對這些子構面與據點在經營績效上的角色的假設檢定中,發現市場機會的各子構面受重視的程度對營業據點在經營績效上所扮演角色的重要性都有顯著影響。而就成本因素及便利性因素的各子構面而言,則是一部份有顯著影響,而一部份沒有。
另外,研究中也針對「市場機會相對於其他因素(成本因素及便利性因素)的重要程度」做調查後發現,在α=0.05的水準下並未達到顯著,也就是對其他兩項因素而言,物流公司也是非常重視的。一般企業界人士常認為「市場機會最重要」的觀點,在臺灣地區的物流公司之間並未顯著的被如此認定。
最後研究者以結論為基礎,建議物流公司增加對進貨物流的重視及認真培養物流管理人才,尤其是中等規模的物流公司更應積極重視,以便為未來可能成長為大規模的物流公司預做準備。

Abstract
Logistics is a subject that has been attracting great attention from the scholars, entrepreneurs, and government officials. The academies study and open the courses, the entrepreneurs reconsider the core competencies and outsourcing, and the government officials emphasize the importance of the management of global logistics and the nation’s capabilities to compete with other countries. All of these have been related to the logistics. Furthermore, the prosperous development of the rising electronic commerce particularly reinforce its importance.
The locations of the logistics companies may affect the profits of their customers and those of the logistics companies. Therefore, taking much more consideration when making a decision on the selection of a branch is meaningful. What are the major consideration factors of the logistics companies when deciding the location of a new branch? Focusing on this issue, the researcher collects and studies its relative information.
First of all, the researcher studied the exact meaning of the term “Logistics”. There have been various definitions presented by the domestic scholars and those being outside. Also, the researcher collected some from Council of Logistics Management. After reviewing the definitions carefully, the researcher defined its own version on this paper.
Secondly, the researcher collects 23 items that have been considered when making a decision on the selection of the location. Then, the researcher studied the characteristics of the items and derived 5 factors as the dimensions. These 5 dimensions are: legality factor, safety factor, cost factor, convenience factor, and business opportunity factor. However, there is no room allowing compromise on the first two factors when making a decision of the location of the branch. Thus, the researcher ruled them out and studied on the other 3 only.
The results of this research conclude that logistics companies in different scale evaluated the importance of the sub-dimensions in significant difference. Besides, the hypothesis tests toward the sub-dimensions and the importance of the role of the branch point out that each sub-dimensions of the business opportunity affect the importance of the role of the branch significantly. As to the sub-dimensions of the cost factor and convenience factor, some of them are affected significantly and some are not.
Also, the researcher developed a question to check if the business opportunity factor is more important than the other 2. The result is that the difference is not significant at the level α=0.05. It means that logistics companies in Taiwan consider the other 2 factors about the same important as the business opportunity. Traditional Taiwanese viewpoint “business opportunity first” seems not completely correct among the logistics.
Finally, the researcher suggests the logistics companies to pay more attention to the inbound logistics. Also the researcher suggests the logistics companies to expedite their effort in the personnel training, especially for those medium scale companies.
