在這民族意識高漲的世紀中，採集民俗音樂，不僅成為音樂學者研討上的一股潮流，亦是人類學家探究上的重要課題。如今，越來越多作曲家喜歡將自己祖國的文化加入作品當中，以表現獨特的個人風格及民族象徵。
阿根廷作曲家----希那斯特拉 (Alberto Ginastera, 1916-1983) 的《第一號鋼琴奏鳴曲》(Piano Sonata No.1, Op.22)是一部以民俗音樂為創作素材的作品，而作品中的「多元性」特徵，強烈地吸引了我，不論在架構、風格、和聲色彩或是音響效果上，此作品皆呈現出豐富的多重層面，學生希望藉由對此作品之鑽研，能讓我在練習及詮釋時，擁有更寬廣的想像空間；再者，也期盼經由此作品的帶領，為自己開拓出現代音樂曲目的視野。
