伊娃.海斯的掛繩作品〈無題〉-線性的描畫

摘要

本論文聚焦在伊娃.海斯於一九七○年的掛繩作品〈無題〉(Untitled)為研究對象,探究海斯如何立基於形式主義的繪畫性質(painterly)、平面性質(plane or parallel face)和方形場域等質性,再以「線性的描畫」作為切入點來重新開啟,其間的思維和實踐為何?海斯怎樣讓圖畫的線條、筆觸脫離表面和框架,並合法地成為作品本身?她如何以線性的描畫姿態來連結一九六○年代的藝術總體環境?海斯借鑒和挪用線性描畫的方向性、張力等質素成為她繪畫、雕塑、裝置…等等作品形式的視覺要素時,其間逾越、擴延的內容為何?

Linear Drawing: Eva Hesse’s Hanging Ropes ‘Untitled’


Abstract


This thesis focuses on Eva Hesse’s work of hanging rope Untitled, which was done in 1970 so as to investigate how Hesse has based herself on formalism’s various properties such as painterly, plane or parallel face and square field and from there to create “linear drawing”. How did her thoughts and practices match each other? How did Hesse emancipate lines and touches from the surface and frame and endow them with the legitimacy to become a work itself ? How did she connect herself to the art world of the 1960’s as a whole with her linear drawing ? Hesse borrowed or appropriated the idea of direction, tension as the visual elements of her painting, sculpture and installation works. How far did she go and what had she achieved?
