《樂興之時》是浪漫樂派俄國作曲家拉赫瑪尼諾夫之代表作，不論是在樂曲的結構安排、動機發展運用、或是和聲音響效果，均是一部相當完美的上乘之作。本論文以「樂興之時」的定義、起源與發展，再經由拉赫瑪尼諾夫的生平、時代背景及其音樂風格探討，之後藉由其《樂興之時》作品十六樂曲特色、版本比較、及曲式分析，透過對樂曲的認識，進而針對在演奏詮釋上能作最適當性之掌握與呈現。

This thesis is intended to make a further study on Rachmaninoff’s piano pieces by way of presenting an analysis on Moments musicaux, with an aim to create a new researching direction. In this thesis the author discusses not only the definition of ‘moments musicaux’, but also the origin and development of this term. The differences between the Classical and Romantic musicians will be distinguished by discussing their social backgrounds and musical constructions. Taking Rachmaninoff’s educational background as a starting point, the discussion subsequently touches areas such as the formation of his early piano-music styles and features. The quest in deciding the most authentic notations and interpretations is done by comparing the four different editions (IMC, Klamus, Shimmer and Benjamin). The analysis is generally focused on the divisions and arrangements of musical phrases, the construction of harmony, the use of modulations and the applications of motives. The various timbres, tempo and dynamics are also included in the discussion of performance interpretation.
