Abstract
Recently, the research related to international entrepreneurship attracts lots of
attention recently. Currently, not many researchers have applied the institutional
environment concept to explain international entrepreneurship in their studies. This
research regards the institutional environment of the host country as one of important
independent variables in explaining international entrepreneurship. In addition,
Taiwanese firms’ network relationships in Mainland China and companies’ resources in
supporting their foreign activities are discussed in this study. The determinants of this
research are mainly adopted from Yeung’s research(2002).
Our sampling frame is 508 Taiwanese companies investing in Mainland China.
120 companies has returned the questionnaires. The valid questionnaires is 112.
The major findings of this study are described as below:
1. Formal institution has significant influences on the management ability of
international entrepreneur.
2. Asymmetric information and business resources are relevant to the
importance of overseas network relationship.
3. International entrepreneurs’ personalities are relevant to the degree of
interaction with overseas network relationship.
