The primary purpose of the presented study is to investigate the interaction effects on a set of contingency variables on the relationship between user participation and user satisfaction in the environment of healthcare organizations. The moderating variables under investigation include the leadership styles (directive, interactive, non-directive), ISDP complexity (high/low), user participant’s autonomy (high/low), job titles (medical professionals and management), and top management support (high/low). The situational fit among leadership styles-ISDP complexity-user participant’s autonomy is also considered as a moderator between user participation and user satisfaction. Ninety-seven users with participating experience in 32 hospitals responded the mail survey which yielded a 29.4% response rate. The result of data analysis revealed user participation does have a significant positive relationship with user satisfaction, but the R square is only 5.5%. Leadership styles, ISDP complexity, and user participant autonomy are the pure moderator of the relationship between UP and US. The significant positive relationships were found in the cases of non-directive/ interactive leadership, high ISDP complexity, and high user participant autonomy. Conversely, the effect of UP on US was found not significant in the cases of directive style of leadership, low ISDP complexity, and low user participant autonomy. Besides, situational fit among LS-ISDP complexity-UPA, job titles, and top management support are not moderators of the relationship between UP and US. However, subgroup analysis revealed the significant positive relationships between UP and US were only found in the cases of situational fit, management department users, and high top management support. Conversely, the relationships between UP and US are not significant when leadership style, ISDP complexity, and user participant autonomy is not match, medical professionals, and when top management support is low. Finally, implications, limitations and future research are discussed.
