In recent years, the Internet provides a new way of communication and changes people’s life style. By using the Virtual Community (VC) website as virtual communication platform, the website user no longer is only the content receiver, simultaneously also may on own initiative transmit the news in the Virtual Community website. The Sport Community website on under the influence which is in vogue in the sport atmosphere, becomes the sports fan to glance over one of gradually website critical localities. Based on this, the Sense of Community (SoC) in Sport Community website is improved through the member to participate in and the interpersonal interaction. The Information Technology, just like a Virtual Community website, provides the community member a cyberspace to build warm feelings, community atmosphere, then facilitate the good relational interaction.
This research adopts the internet questionnaire survey to investigate the VC behavior of the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL), which includes six Sports team Official Websites. We intent to find how the Social factors and the Technical factors affect the community member''s participation behavior, Sense of Community as well as the loyalty. We also compare the differences among the participation behavior, Sense of Community and the loyalty according to the degree of member contribution and the sport teams.
The results show that following six conclusions:1.The function of Community website and the Social factor have the significant relationships.;2.The Social factor and member''s participation behavior are not obviously related.;3.The function of Community website positively influences the member''s participation behavior.;4. Member''s participation behavior will facilitate the Sense of Community.;5.Member''s Sense of Community will affect the loyalty of the member.;6.Both the different community contribution degree member and the different sport team members have the different in participation behavior, Sense of Community but have the similar loyalty. This research also provides some useful suggestions for the Sport Community website in the design and the promotion.
