IC測試產業提供給客戶(IC製造上游廠商)之測試服務內容十分複雜，每個客戶針對不同產品皆有不同的測試方法、流程、測試機台的選擇，IC測試廠商通常會與客戶對測試服務內容進行相互諮詢，共同決定測試服務內容，此過程通常是個十分複雜的決策過程。IC測試廠商希望從過往的客戶測試服務內容歷史資料中尋找類似的案例幫助推薦，如此便可以很快找出參考解答。
本研究提出在IC測試服務內容的商議過程中，採用一個經過改良的案例式推薦(Case-Based Recommendation)方式以建構一個互動式的推薦及決策系統，此系統採用兩階段式的案例式推理並結合動態與靜態兩種資料庫供作推薦作業。
系統的作業方式分為兩階段：第一階段先透過輸入客戶基本資料及服務需求資料推理出採用那一種的測試流程，由於在IC測試廠要提供服務前測試流程必須要先被決定後才能推薦各項測試服務項目；第二階段為除了利用第一階段的輸入資料外，會再加上第一階段推理出的結果(測試流程)作為輸入資料以推理出該選用那些機台及設備。
本研究之系統使用兩個資料庫：第一個稱為案例庫，裏面有許多個案例，毎一個案例都記錄著客戶曾經提出的需求，及最後獲得的服務內容(包括使用的測試流程與機台設備)；另一個稱為服務目錄庫的資料庫，裏面存放著不斷更新的服務目錄資料，其內容為記錄工廠現在有那些機台及設備可於何時能提供測試服務，由於工廠的機台及設備常隨著不同的時間作維修、保養或正在提供給其他客戶作測試服務中，其可利用的狀況是隨著時間有所不同。
因此本研究所提出的方法就是改良式的兩階段案例式的推理方式，並應用兩個資料庫，一個為案例庫可以視為靜態資料庫，另一個為服務目錄庫為一個動態的資料庫。在第一階段的案例式推演步驟中，只會使用案例庫(靜態資料庫)，在第二階段的推理步驟時，將會同時使用到案例庫(靜態資料庫)與服務目錄庫(動態資料庫)。本研究之系統可以在第二階段的案例推理中，利用這兩個資料庫，產生協力式與內容式資訊過濾 (Hybrid collaborative/content base filtering)的服務推薦方式，透過結合兩種推薦方式的優點可以增加推薦的效果，以因應IC測試服務內容的複雜與動態變化。

The purpose of this research was to develop a recommender and decision system and the application of these ideas to an interactive, CBR framework recommendation system to IC testing industry. The case in CBR system is modeled to record session contents between human and machine. This system also combines two databases, in which one is the case base and the other is a service catalog, providing recommendation by a novel way of integrating content- and collaborative-based filtering techniques. The case base can be regarded as the static database because it only stores the past experience and knowledge. On the other hand, the service catalog is regarded as dynamic database because it links to the ERP system, and the data in the database will be updated frequently.
To apply the CBR to the IC industry, the recommendation procedure in this system is adopted to two stages CBR cycle. The first stage is to retrieve the IC test flow and then get the recommendation of all test service through the second stage. Besides using the required features to retrieve the similar case from a case base(static database), this system also can search for service items from an electronic catalog(dynamic database) and then the items can further be ranked by combining two filtering techniques. This will assist users to make decision effectively.
Finally, we introduce how the services recommendation of this system can be applied to IC test industry practically and then evaluate the performance and efficiency.
