企業在追求成長的過程當中,往往會面臨許多問題。為增加公司的利潤與成長的機會,而這些企業所採行的經營策略,包括購併、合資、策略聯盟等,其中又以策略聯盟最為重要。
過去對於策略聯盟的實證研究非常豐富,然而傳統策略管理文獻大多只用單一理論觀點解釋,聚焦在於經濟觀點的理論或社會構面的影響,則難窺「策略聯盟」全貌,導致見樹不見林,而落入社會化不足或社會化過度的現象。研究對象這方面也多集中於高科技的明星產業,但卻極少對於傳統製造產業的策略聯盟研究。
基於上述,本研究嘗試以交易成本理論和網路鑲嵌理論觀點。以台灣麵粉產業合船採購的策略聯盟作為研究對象,探討交易成本理論於合船採購策略性利益的影響;網路鑲嵌理論對於交易成本理論和合船採購策略性利益影響的干擾效果。利用逐步複回歸方式,證明資產專屬性,對於合船採購策略性利益愈有正面顯著影響。本文也進一步證明網路理論中的網路鑲嵌還具有干擾(moderate)交易成本和合船採購策略性利益的關係,網路鑲嵌可以強化資產專數性對合船採購策略性利益的關係,也會因過度網路鑲嵌而弱化不確定性對合船採購策略性利益的關係。因此本研究證明,不同的交易成本特性對於合船採購策略性利益有不同的影響;網路鑲嵌針對於不同的交易成本特性,扮演了強化與弱化兩種角色的功能,針對不同的交易特性產生干擾的作用,值得管理者深思。
Growing companies will often encounter problems while aspiring after expansion. In order to increase profit and growth opportunity, the stratagems they use include purchasing, merging, entering into joint venture and strategic alliance, and among them, strategic alliance is the most important.
There have been abundant studies about strategic alliance, however, most of traditional strategic management literatures take on single-theory-driven approach, giving too much attention on economic perspectives or the effect of social dimension, failing to provide a complete picture of strategic alliance, precluding people from understanding what is important, and leading to either too much or yet not enough socialization. They also concentrate on high technology industry with regard to research subjects with seldom traditional industry being involved.
The present study has been made in view of the abovementioned circumstances. From the perspectives of transaction cost and network embeddedness and with the Strategic Benefit of Co-Purchasing alliance by Taiwan flour industry, as the study subject, the study examines the influence of transaction cost on the strategic benefits of Co-Purchasing , and the moderating effect of network embeddedness on the relationship of transaction cost and the strategic benefits of Co-Purchasing. Results from multiple regression analysis showed the asset specificity and its positive influence on the strategic benefits of Co-Purchasing.
The findings further evidence that network embeddedness in network theory has moderating effect on the relationship of transaction cost and the strategic benefits of Co-Purchasing . Network embeddedness may intensify the influence of the asset specificity exclusivity of assets on the strategic benefits of Co-Purchasing , but it may also weaken the influence of uncertainty on the strategic benefits of Co-Purchasing due to excessive network embeddedness.
Therefore, the results of the study proved that different characteristic of transaction cost has varied influence on the strategic benefits of Co-Purchasing ; depending on the characteristic of transaction cost, network embeddedness will either intensity or weaken the moderating effect. This is the reference direction that the study provides for the industry.
