This research explores Ba Jia-Jiang and its significance for adolescence at risk. Furthermore, the main objective is to compare and analyze the obvious psychological and behavioral changes of adolescence before and after joining the Ba Jia-Jiang group, so as to better inform government policy and assist juveniles. The thesis adopts a qualitative approach to research. Relevant data have been collected from interviews, including seven Ba-Jia-Jiang adolescence, two group leaders of Ba-Jia-Jiang, one chief of a temple, and two others (N = 12). Interviews are combined with bibliographic analysis, observational fieldwork written notes. The findings of the research are as follows: 1. The group leader of Ba-Jia-Jiang has a right to decide the overall group’s direction, so he/she has a significant influence on its group. 2. Parents feel helpless and incapable of influencing their children attending Ba-Jia-Jiang group. 3. Schools unable to provide these young people with a performance opportunity on stage that could be respected by others. 4. Ba-Jia-Jiang juveniles are the fruits of weak social bonds. 5. Ba-Jia-Jiang group provides disaffected students with a real sense of self-confidence, and this exists within its own particular subculture. It is suggested that Ba-Jia-Jiang activity in Taiwan should be allotted respect as an honored culture and special art form. The juveniles who attend Ba-Jia-Jiang groups should not automatically be labeled as bad; on the other hand, the government, schools and media should provide appropriate and necessary assistance and care towards them. In terms of juvenile guidance and crime prevention, it is suggested that the following may be useful. 1. Enhancing management and supervision of the group leaders of Ba-Jia-Jiang. Regular inquiries by police on certain temples and groups. Enact and execute the temples administration related laws and regulations Obtain parental consent of Ba-Jia-Jiang adolescence. Encourage greater working with Ba-Jia-Jiang adolescence by social workers and related people. 2. Try to ensure balanced media coverage of Ba-Jia-Jiang activities. 3. Provision of greater extra-curricular activities to encourage involvement of disaffected students.
