This study aims to investigate the phenomenon and causal factors of juvenile victimization by peer gangsters. At draws data from the ‘Gangster Activities in Campus Survey’ conducted by Wen-Yuen Chou in 2004. Samples were selected by hierarchical randomized sampling methods from junior high school students in six counties. Student samples are from 22 schools, including one in Keelung City, six in Taipei City, nine in Taipei County, four in Taoyuan County, one in Hsinchu City and one in Hsinchu County. Total samples are 2159. These samples were then analyzed by Chi-square test, t test, Oneway ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation, stepwise multiple regression, and path analysis.

The results are as follows:
1. Samples who are males, between 14 to 15 years-old, senior students, living with divorced parents or with parents who have difficult marriage, and in better-off family economy, are more likely to be victimized by their peer gangsters.
2. The probability of victimization can be effectively explained by the target’s family function, residence, school attachment, school performance, peer attachment, the number of deviant peers, leisure activities, and recognition of gangsters, self-reported deviance, campus gangsters, and gang experiences.
3. Major predictors of victimization by peer gangsters among the overall samples are in the following order: campus gangs (Beta=0.31, p<0.001), deviant leisure activities (Beta=0.23, p<0.001) and self-reported deviance (Beta=0.20, p<0.001).
4. Major predictors of victimization by peer gangsters among non-gang members are in the following order: campus gangs (Beta=0.27, p<0.001), self-reported deviance (Beta=0.24, p<0.001), and residence (Beta=0.16, p<0.001).
5. Major predictors of victimization by peer gangsters among gang members are in the following order: campus gangs (Beta=0.59, p<0.001), self-reported deviance (Beta=0.32, p<0.001), and residence (Beta=0.24, p<0.05).
According to the finding, this research concludes with the following suggestions to prevent juvenile victimization. First of all, there is a need to strengthen family structure and function. Secondly, schools should encourage positive interaction between teachers and students and prevent the forming of campus gangs. Thirdly, students should be cautious on making friends and selecting leisure activities. Finally, the society, schools and family should help the students to develop healthy value and at the same time increase the supervision of youngsters prove to delinquency.
