Due to the approach of knowledge based economy, all industries are getting involved in network environment. Since building trade is the locomotive of Taiwan industries, we have to exploit those existing resources and e-commerce to enhance our competitive strength in order to survive against this agitation. Computerization doubtlessly becomes iressitable in the architecture and construction industry. Recently in Taiwan, most urban planning and building managing websites enthusiastically develop electronic services which supply fuctions with information transmission and online registration of building or planning permit. To build a digital city (or so-called CyberCity) is the ultimate goal. This thesis focuses on investigation and analysis of fuctions of Taiwanese and foreign urban planning and building managing websites. The purpose is to establish a sensible procedures of building or planning permit deliberation systems and suitable documents and drawing formats, and to strive to provide probable guidelines for e-government policy.
