傳統資訊系統由於技術上的限制及管理架構的考量，大都以功能性為架設主軸，各部門各自擁有獨立的資訊系統以支援部門內部的需求。然而，近年來在變動快速及競爭激烈之環境使然，企業面臨了極大的經營壓力，因此經營者必須更迅速的做出正確的決策以達成企業使命，而資訊科技的發達進步正提供企業經營者此一機會。
整合企業內部整體所有經營活動的企業資源規劃系統(Enterprise Resource Planning，簡稱ERP系統)，便成為企業在邁向變動的未來不可或缺的工具。ERP系統雖可幫助企業重新思考企業營運流程，提供企業流程改造的絕佳機會，但如何確保ERP系統能導入成功，增加企業營運之效率及效果，進而對企業價值有所增益，這不是一件容易完成的工作。
由於導入ERP系統非常昂貴且耗費人力，也曾發生導入失敗而影嚮到企業之經營之案例。所以企業在考慮要導入ERP時，投資報酬率及上線後之實際成效是否符合預期是一般企業主最想知道的，而台灣之企業型態大都屬於中小企業為主，但國內目前對於ERP導入後之成效分析又大都以大企業為研究對象，對中小企業則著墨不多。故本研究對象以中小企業為主體，透過訪談調查及個案分析之分式，探討中小企業導入ERP系統之現況、人員因素與流程再造對導入ERP系統效益的影響並進一步探討導入ERP系統效益對企業整體績效影響。

By the consideration of management framework and the restriction of technical ability, the traditional information system is built on the performance of its function. Each department has its own seperate information system to fullfil its inner needs. In the last few years, through rapid enviromental changes and the serious competition, enterprise has faced enormous pressure to come up with the right actions and make the decisions quickly and precisely in order to achieve the company goals. Well developed information technology has provided the decision makers this opportunity.
Integrating all management activities within the enterprise including enterprise resource planning (abbr. ERP system) becomes the very tool directing the enterprise towards the rapidly changing future. Although the ERP system could help enterprise reconsider its managing procedures, it is still not an easy task for the enterprise to ensure its success in inplementing ERP. Furthermore, the ultimate goal is to increase efficiency and add the value to the enterprise.
It's very costly and resourse consuming to introduce ERP into a company. There are plenty of examples showing that companies were seriously affected by not succeeding in implementing ERP. Thus,when enterprise is considering introducing ERP , the very thing the enterprise owner wants to know is whether the result that comes out of ERP will be are will be a rewarding one-- that is to say, the cost and effect. Most of the bussiness in Taiwan are small and mid-sized enterprises. Previously, the studies of the effect of implementing ERP in Taiwan were aiming towards large enterprise. There was not much mentioned about small enterprise. So, in this study we are targeting small enterprise. Through questionnaires and cases analysis, we try to explore what they are doing now when implementing ERP. What do the people do to implement ERP? What does the procedures rework do to ERP's effect? Moreover, what does ERP do to the entire enterprise's efficiency.
