在完全競爭的勞動力市場裡,受雇於相同工作的技術工人應得到相同的工資,但是我們發現在現實生活中由於不同種族、性別或國籍而造成勞動市場普遍存在著同工不同酬的現象。 在國內從「台灣地區家庭收支訪問調查」我們發現自1976~1992 年外省族群的年平均薪資所得較本省族群高。 因此本文透過薪資所得分解方程式可清楚了解省籍間薪資所得差異中可解釋部份主要是受到其本身教育水準、職業類別及居住地區差異所造成,而不可解釋部份所顯示出來的是指外省族群的「特徵性單價」是被高估。
In this thesis, we study the earnings differentials between natives and
immigrants who migrated from Mainland China to Taiwan after the World War II.
From the Survey of Family Income and Expenditure, we found that immigrants earn
more than natives. The decomposition results show that ethnic differences in
educational attainment, occupation, and residential location play a major role in explaining the differences in the observed earnings between immigrants and natives. However, about one quarter of wage differentials cannot be explained by observed differences in productive characteristics. The main reason is that productive characteristics of immigrants are overvalued, and at the same time the productive characteristics of natives are slightly undervalued.
