在知識密集的高科技產業,除了垂直整合策略、水平式的技術合作之外,廠商間的內隱知識交換策略亦為廠商增加獲利的利器,因此,本研究在假設上游為獨佔,下游有三家廠商的市場結構下,探討產品差異化程度的不同,對進行垂直整合的影響,更引用Neslihan Aydogan & Thomas P. Lyon(2004)之研究,將內隱知識移轉的成效量化為降低廠商的單位成本,以探討內隱知識如何影響廠商策略的抉擇,以及廠商採取內隱知識交換策略是否能達到如垂直整合策略相同的效果。
經本研究經濟模型之推導,其結果為:
1. 垂直整合策略的利潤會大於內隱知識交換策略,但內隱知識之獨立性與互補性愈大,愈有利於廠商採取知識交換策略。
2. 垂直整合之下游廠商,與其他下游廠商進行內隱知識交換之合作策略會更有利。
3. 廠商在內隱知識交換過程中,欲採取欺騙策略時,聯合另一家廠商的欺騙策略會比單獨欺騙更有利。
4. 產品愈具差異化時,廠商利潤、最終財價格及產量均會上升;當獨立性知識及互補性知識愈大時,廠商利潤會上升、最終財價格下降且產量上升。
In the knowledge-intensive Hi-Tech industry, except that vertical integration strategy and horizontal technological cooperation, tacit knowledge exchanges among firms is also an excellent strategy. Consider a market structure in which an upstream firm is supplying an intermediate good to three downstream firms, we examine the impact of the degree of product differentiation on vertical integration. To cite the research of Neslihan Aydogan & Thomas P. Lyon (2004), we suppose the effect of transfer of tacit knowledge will reduce the unit cost of the firm in order to examine how tacit knowledge influences the choice of firm's strategy, and whether tacit knowledge exchanges can reach as same result as vertical integration.
By the deriving of this economic model of research, we show that:
1. The profit of vertical integration strategy is greater than the strategy of tacit knowledge exchange, but the independent and complementarities in trading of tacit knowledge are bigger, the more facilitate the firm to adopt tacit knowledge exchange.
2. The vertically integrated downstream firm will make more profit to cooperate with other downstream firms in tacit knowledge exchange.
3. In the trading of tacit knowledge, the downstream firm want to adopt cheating, it will be more favorable than to cheat alone to unite the deception tactics of another firm.
4. When the degree of product differentiation increases, firm's profit, the price and output of final product will rise. When independent and complementarities are bigger, firm's profit and output will rise, but the price of final product will drop.
