臺灣博碩士論文加值系統

在台灣上映的美國英語電影，不管是電影院、電視、還是DVD，都會配上中文字幕，以便讓台灣觀眾能理解電影對白及劇情。近幾年來，台灣的美國英語電影字幕似乎愈來愈常出現受到台灣語言及文化影響的字眼（台式中文），而且這種現象似乎已經到了相當普遍的地步，幾乎每部電影都會出現，其中又以喜劇片最多。
本論文以近三年在台灣出版的DVD喜劇電影字幕譯文為研究對象，一共使用了十二部在台灣DVD出租店租售的電影DVD，電影中出現的台式中文字幕都會收集到研究語料裡，筆者在資料收集完成後，對這些語料做了整理分析。在分析時，筆者引用了字幕的基本翻譯原則；接著再以文化相關的翻譯理論以及溝通功能論為台式中文字幕的意義和功能做解釋；最後再根據研究所觀察到的規律，利用規範理論為研究結果找出一套規範。筆者發現某些類型的對白，通常都會對應某些類型的字幕譯文，可見字幕翻譯中有套以台式中文作為譯文的規範存在。
希望本研究能為電影字幕翻譯歸納出一套翻譯規範，除了可以讓字幕譯者遇到相同情況時可以輕鬆迅速地思考出合適的譯文，也可以讓新加入字幕翻譯的新手有套規範可循。

American movies released in Taiwan, whether in theater, on TV or on DVD, include Mandarin subtitles so that the Taiwanese audience can understand the dialogues and plots. The subtitles of American movies released in Taiwan have, for the past few years, been influenced more and more by expressions from the Taiwanese language and culture (“Taiwanese Mandarin”), and such phenomenon has become so common that the Taiwanese Mandarin subtitles appear in almost every movie, most notably comedies.
This thesis explores the subtitle translations of comedies released on DVD in Taiwan over the past three years. Twelve movies on DVD were selected for this research. Instance of Taiwanese Mandarin subtitles in the movies were recorded as research data. Following data collection, analysis and interpretation were applied. The principles regarding subtitle translation were first used during the analysis of these data. Theories related to cultural translation and communication/function theories were then used for the interpretation of the significance and function of Taiwanese Mandarin subtitles. Finally, in accordance with the Norm Theory, regular patterns observed during the analysis were listed as a set of norms. It is found that certain type of dialogues usually have a certain type of corresponding subtitle translation. A conclusion can therefore be drawn that a norm based on the use of Taiwanese Mandarin in subtitle translation exists.
I hope that this research can generalize a set of translation norms for movie subtitle translation. This set of norms can help established subtitle translators easily and rapidly produce an appropriate translation in similar contexts and also provide new subtitle translators with a set of rules to follow.
