面對環境快速變遷的競爭時代,新產品在開發時期的整合、快速反應顯得格外重要。TFT-LCD面板製造廠商在新產品開發流程上,如何應用同步工程的概念,縮短產品上市時間。
本研究以整個台灣TFT-LCD面板製造產業作為研究背景,期能達到探討同步工程對於新產品開發績效的影響、根據研究結果提出建議,供管理者與後續研究者作為參考、提供台灣TFT-LCD面板製造廠商在新產品開發績效上能夠有彼此學習之機會為目的。
本研究以個案的方法進行,並以本研究架構所發展出之同步工程導入因素構面對新產品開發績效構面之影響,作為本研究個案訪談的主要構面,再依據構面之變項各自發展相關問題。選擇單一產業個案研究方法與多重個案設計法,針對所選擇之台灣地區以A、B、C、D、E等五家具有代表性之TFT-LCD中小尺寸面板製造廠商作為個案研究訪談廠商,並以負責新產品開發之專案管理團隊(Project Management Team)為訪談對象,將選擇的個案研究對象逐一進行深入訪談,彙整分析個案訪談結果,進而引導出相關之命題。
本研究依據個案描述與比較分析結果發現下列之命題:
一、同步工程的導入仰賴於跨部門的專案成員参與、高階主管的支持與承諾、專案成員間的專業背景。
二、同步工程的導入需有團隊領導人推行。
三、同步工程導入有助於新產品開發速度與產品品質。
四、將資訊系統整合應用於新產品開發過程中有助於開發過程中的監控、問題解決、協調、加速新產品開發速度。
五、TFT-LCD面板製造產業之新產品開發績效衡量可從公司利益、專案、技術、顧客與財務等變項衡量。
期望台灣TFT-LCD面板製造廠商可以將標準產品產能、與需費時大量人工TFT-LCD面板製造後段模組加工外移,利用同步工程的概念與海外同時在新產品開發階段,能明確區分不同產品市場,形成國內面板製造廠商能與日韓的同業具有優勢的競爭力,創造出更有價值的創新產品。
In the rapidly changed and competitive world, it is very important for new products to feedback fleetly customers reactions while in new product development NPD) stage. However, for TFT-LCD panel industry, how can it apply the concept of concurrent engineering and to shorten the preparing time of products before they are put on the market?
This research focuses on Taiwan TFT-LCD panel industry. The purposes of this research are to explore the effect of NPD performance applying concurrent engineering on new products, to provide managers and following researchers suggestions, and to offer the learning opportunities for Taiwan TFT-LCD panel manufactures.
This research uses Multiple Case Study to see the effect of concurrent engineering on NPD performance. 5 representative manufactures are selected. Project management team(A、B、C、D、E) of each manufacture is in-depth interviewed.
Based on the interviewed descriptions and analyzed results, this research provides the following five propositions:
1.To phase in concurrent engineering in new product development stage, it is important to rely on the cross function team participation、team members’ professional background and top managers’ supports.
2.To phase in concurrent engineering in new product development stage, it requires team leaders to be the protagonist.
3.Phasing in concurrent engineering improves the quality and speed of new product development.
4.Implementing information technology integration helps to monitor process, solve problems, coordinate team members, and speed up the new product development.
5.In TFT-LCD panel industry, project management team can integrate 5 measurement skills to evaluate new product development performance, such as company benefit, project, technology, customer, and finance.
This research suggests that Taiwan TFT-LCD panel manufactures implement concurrent engineering concept in parallel with world wide manufactures in new product development stage, explicitly separate product segmentation, improve competence, and add product value during in new product development stage that can complete with Japanese or Korean TFT-LCD panel manufactures.
