摘要
影響軟體開發專案成敗的眾多因素中,開發模式被認為是其中的一個主要項目。行之多年的瀑布模式近年來已逐漸被一些更符合現代軟體環境的模式所取代,其中1997年通過物件管理組織(OMG)認可的統一塑模語言(UML, Unified Modeling Language)即為其中之一。UML推出後即受到許多專家及學者的認同,並在短短幾年間得到相關工具大廠的支持,一般箴認為UML可讓專案開發事半功倍。
UML標準應該是很多的軟體開發專案的催生工具才對,可是目前在UML的使用狀況似乎並沒有預期的好。無論是大型企業或是中小企業的開發人員,在軟體開發專案中使用UML的比例相當的低,即便使用了UML,也是限於在很小的範圍內,是否真正發揮了UML的功效,也是值得懷疑。
本研究的目的即在探討影響組織導入UML的因素。本研究將UML的導入視為組織導入新科技的歷程,並以「科技接受模式」為基礎,探究影響UML採用意願的因素。經相關文獻探討,整理出「使用者」、「組織」、「組織環境」、「已採用之科技」、「專案任務」與「知識管理」等六個構面。本研究以問卷調查所得資料,經統計分析,結果顯示,使用者」、「組織」、「組織環境」、「已採用之科技」、「專案任務」與「知識管理」等六個構面對「UML採用意願」具有顯著的影響;且「採用意願」對「採用行為」也有顯著的影響。
本研究的結果可提供組織了解導入UML時,應注意的影響因素,使組織能及早採取相對的因應措施,使導入的過程更順利,以提升導入成功的機率,並且提昇企業的競爭力。
ABSTRACT
Among those factors affecting the successful of a software project, development model is an important one. The traditional Waterfall model, which has been criticized by many software engineers, was gradually replaced by several new models. One of them is the Unified Modeling Language (UML), which was approved by the OMG in 1997. Since that time, the UML has attracted attentions of many software experts and scholars and also has gotten the support of software CASE tool developers.
According to the situation, the UML should have been popularly used in software projects. However, the real situation is different. Research data shows that not many software projects, no matter large or small, used it. Event it was used, the scope was confined in small domain.
The goal of this research is to identify the factors that affect the usage of the UML in organizations. We view the introduction of the UML into an organization as a process of new technology adaptation. Our study is based on the Technology Adaptation Model (TAM). By reviewing research papers, we identified six affecting dimensions, including the user, organization, environment, used technologies, project tasks and knowledge management. We designed questionnaires to collect data from sampled software departments and the data was analyzed using statistic package. The statistical results show that four factors, environment, used technologies, project tasks and knowledge management, have positive influence on the intention of use of the UML. It also shows that the intention of use has positive affection to the behavior of use.
The contribution of this research is that the results tell software organizations those important factors which affect the introduction of the UML to software projects. If a software company or a software department can pay much effort in those factors, they will make the adaptation process more smoothly and their software productive will be highly improved.
