近年來,由於發光二極體(Light Emitter Diode;LED)的發光效率快速提升,使得LED逐漸成為新世紀的照明光源,因此本論文針對LED在車頭燈照明系統之應用進行設計。然而現階段單顆LED的功率僅達數瓦特,所以必須使用多顆LED光源,才能產生足夠的亮度。此外多顆LED光源所產生的高溫,不僅使光源的發光效率與壽命降低,且易使燈具發燙或熔解。因此本論文沿用光纖照明系統(Distributive Lighting System)的概念,使光源與燈具分開擺置,並利用單核心的光纖將LED發射的光線傳導至車頭燈處。在頭燈光線的輸出端,直接將光導管的出口設計成類似於法規光型之開口,並利用透鏡成像的原理,將光導管的影像投射出去。此車頭燈系統的特色為:不需任何遮板就可達到法規所要求的光型與亮度,且LED光源與頭燈分開擺置,有利於解決LED的散熱問題。由模擬數據得知,本車頭燈系統只需使用八顆LED即可符合法規亮度與光型之要求;此外由實驗結果證實,由光纖所建立的車頭燈雛形可提供較均勻的光型分佈。
In recent years, Light Emitter Diode (LED) gradually becomes a new light source for illumination applications due to its light emitting efficiency promoted fast. Hence, the aim of this thesis is to design the vehicle headlamp illumination system based on LED sources. However, the power of single LED has only few watts now, it must use several LED sources to produce enough brightness. In addition, the heat produced by several LED light sources not only decreases the emitting efficiency and the lifespan of light sources but also makes the lamp to burn or melt easily. Therefore, the concept of the Distributive Lighting System is employed to put LED light sources away from the headlamp, and use solid-core optical fibers to conduct the light rays from the LED sources to the lamp. At the exit of the headlamp, the outlet of the light pipe is designed to have a profile similar to the legal light pattern so that the image of the light pipe can be projected by using the imaging theorem. The feature of the proposed lighting system is that the requirement of light pattern and illumination can be achieved, without any shield. In addition, the LED sources and the headlamp are set separately, and this turns to the advantage of solving the heat dissipation problem. The simulation data show that only eight LEDs are required to conform to the regulation requirements both on the illumination and the light pattern. Furthermore, the experimental result verifies that the embryo of the fiber based headlamp system can offer a better pattern distribution.
