在行動IP網路環境下,行動代理人(Agents)在整個通訊機制上扮演相當重要的角色,所以有效率的行動代理人之容錯協定是很重要的研究主題。然而容錯機制多會增加行動節點向行動代理人註冊所花費的時間,並可能耗費大量的系統資源,針對這樣的問題,本研究提出了一個以法團為基礎的移動性代理人之容錯協定,利用法團的特性,在一個有N個家鄉代理人的網路環境下,將所有家鄉代理人分團,每個家鄉代理人都有 個備份法團,而每個家鄉代理人會把自己所管理的網段分成 段,並且分別將家位址位於這些網段的行動綁定備份到對應的備份法團中。當某一家鄉代理人發生錯誤時,系統會從這些備份此錯誤家鄉代理人的行動綁定之備份法團中各自選出一個家鄉代理人來接管這錯誤的家鄉代理人的綁定,如此一來這些行動代理人可以自行處理容錯問題,而不需要其他而外的管理者或硬體。與過去相關研究比較,實驗結果顯示本論文所提出的方法有許多優點:可以相對的降低行動節點註冊時間、行動代理人的負載、系統資源的耗費以及額外的硬體成本的花費。
In mobile IP networks, mobility agents play an important role in the communication mechanism. Therefore, devising efficient fault-tolerant protocols for the mobility agents is an active research topic. However, most existing fault-tolerant protocols for the mobility agents will increase the time of registration process and need much system resource. To copy this problem, in this study, we propose a quorum-based fault-tolerant protocol for the mobility agents. In the proposed protocol, for a mobility system with N home agents, all the agents are grouped into quorums. And, each home agent divides the network that it manages into equal parts. For a mobile node, its bindings will thus be backuped in the agents of the corresponding backup quorum in order. When a home agent fails, a home agent in each backup quorum will be chosen to takeover the bindings of the failed agent. Thus, all the agents can deal with the fault-tolerant problem by themselves without other coordinator or hardware. In comparison with previous related works, simulations results show that the proposed protocol has many advantages: less latency for registration process, better system load balance, less system resource requirement, and no additional hardware.
